Meet the Team
Rainer is our fearless leader and owner of Menlo Velo since 1995.
Rainer has amassed quite the collection of bicycles after becoming fully entrenched into the cycling industry.
Proud father of a UCSB graduate who now attends law school in Sacramento.
Favorite style of bike: "Groad" or gravel road bikes.
This is Zoey, she is a dog. More Specifically, she is Rainer's dog.
She hangs out at the shop relatively often, and she is super friendly.
Sometimes Zoey can feel a little lonely here at the shop, feel free to stop by and give her some scratches.
Your dogs are welcome here as well!
Christian has been our personal bike wizard/magician/guru/ service specialist since 2008.
He loves road and cyclocross and joins The Noon Ride whenever he's not wrenching.
Favorite bike: Specialized Roubaix with Ultegra Di2, 11-42t Cassette, and Specialized 321 rear carbon disc wheel.
Michael is a proud burn survivor, and certified bike nerd.
Self-proclaimed "Retired Fixie Kid".
His first job was at a bike shop right out of high school, and he's worked in bike shops ever since.
Favorite style of bike: Single speeds and anything with flat handlebars. Bells, Baskets, and racks are a plus!
A "Lifer" in the cycling industry, Rich has seen'em all.
Rich likes to take old worn out bikes that no one else wants home so he can fix them up and find a good rider for them.
Recently started racing cyclocross again after a 10 year hiatus, and he digs our new team kit pictured.
Favorite style of bike: Literally anything with two wheels and brakes.
